BTP Verify is a Chrome extension from BizTechPro, 1 Blue Hill Plaza, Lobby Suite 1509, Pearl River, NY 10965. BizTechPro technicians use it to confirm the identity of people who ask for IT support. It only works with a BizTechPro staff account in BTP Tools, our internal system.
This policy covers the extension and the parts of BTP Tools it connects to. Our website privacy policy covers the website only. Its marketing, tracking and mailing terms do not apply to BTP Verify data.
What the extension handles
| Data | Where it comes from | What happens to it |
|---|---|---|
| Technician’s sign-in token | BTP Tools, when the technician connects the extension | Kept in Chrome’s session storage and sent only to BTP Tools. Chrome clears it when it closes, and it expires after 8 hours. BTP Tools does not store it. |
| Technician’s name | BTP Tools | Shown in the panel. Not stored by the extension. |
| Ticket number | The address of the active tab, on biztechpro.superops.ai and support.biztechpro.net only | Sent to BTP Tools to look up the ticket. The full address is not sent, and the extension does not read the page’s contents. |
| Requester’s name, company, verification status and last verified date, plus their email address when an invite is sent | BTP Tools and our ticketing system | Shown to the technician in the panel. Not stored by the extension. |
| The chosen contact, the reason for a verification and any note the technician types | The technician | Sent to BTP Tools to send the verification or invite. |
The extension sends nothing about any other website, and it contains no analytics or advertising code.
What BTP Tools keeps
- A record of each verification: who sent it, who it was for, the ticket, the reason and note, the result and the times.
- A security log of actions, including the IP address of the connection.
- A private note on the ticket in our ticketing system with the verification’s result.
- A cached copy of requester email addresses, deleted 7 days after it was last refreshed.
- Invite links and setup codes, deleted 30 days after they are used or expire.
Verification records and security logs have no automatic deletion date. We keep them to show who was verified, when and why, and to investigate misuse.
How we use it
We use this data only to identify the person asking for support, send the verification or invite, show the result, record it on the ticket and keep the security record. We do not sell it. We do not use it for marketing, advertising, or credit or lending decisions.
Who receives it
BizTechPro staff with the Verify permission can see contacts and verification records. These service providers receive only what they need to provide this service: our ticketing system, which supplies ticket and requester details and receives the private ticket note; a hosting provider, which hosts BTP Tools and its data; and email, text message and mobile notification services, which deliver invites, setup codes and verification notifications.
We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
How it is protected
The extension and BTP Tools communicate over HTTPS. BTP Tools checks for a staff account with the Verify permission on every request.
Limited Use
BizTechPro’s use of information received through BTP Verify complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
Technicians can remove the extension from Chrome at any time. Anyone whose details appear in BTP Verify can ask to see, correct or remove them through biztechpro.net/contact or by calling (845) 747-5803. We respond within 30 days. We may keep records we need for security or legal reasons.
